Welcome
There are a lot of things to consider when you set up home with your partner - whether as a cohabiting or married couple - and discussing them at the outset can avoid a lot of arguments later on.
Skipton's research shows that a fifth of people (19%) worry that they wouldn't be able to support themselves if they separated from their partner, whilst a quarter (26%) worry they'd lose their home. There's also strong support for having clear boundaries for your finances, as a fifth of people (19%) say they'd rather keep their money separate from their partner and only 36% of couples have a joint savings account.
